Elza’s roots are in engineering and talent development roles with Nortel, where her team was recognized with several awards for innovation and impact. She founded her consulting business in 1999, providing strategic planning, facilitation and new program development services across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, focusing mainly on technology, youth and entrepreneurship. Elza has worked with many startups through Invest Ottawa and L-SPARK, and is the co-creator of the business acceleration program, GrindSpaceXL.

Andrew Jackson has over 25 years of experience guiding growth in private and publicly held companies from startups to enterprises. He has held C-level roles across Canada in diverse sectors such as software, media, NFP, healthcare, and financial services. Andrew’s successes include commercializing first-generation technology at companies such as JetForm, InSystems and MD Financial. In 2011 Andrew founded Knowmads Inc. to help guide dozens of startups. Andrew is the co-creator of the business acceleration program, GrindSpaceXL.
Susan Englehutt is the founder and creator of The Way Buyers Buy. A born simplifier and visual thinker, Susan is an expert sales and marketing consultant and trainer. Her specialty is in helping the leaders of technology and services companies, including Fortune 50 companies like Verizon, IBM, Microsoft, and Dell and to small and medium companies too. The Way Buyers Buy is a proven guide for building repeatable sales and marketing processes and getting buyers faster.
Anil Dilawri is the Managing Director of Save it like Sully – a professional presentation training and coaching company. Anil has worked with many individual leaders and groups from various industries including technology, oil & gas, financial services, healthcare, industry associations, government and mining. Anil has also held senior positions in research & development, product marketing, communications, and consulting.
Shaun Markey is President of Shaun Markey Communications Inc., a boutique public relations and media firm, which provides media relations / communication services for a range of businesses and public organizations. Shaun’s clients include advanced technology companies, startups, national associations, post secondary institutions, municipalities, government agencies and departments. He also has experience in regional economic development, journalism and broadcasting.

Geoff Salter P. Eng., President and CEO of Aztech Associates Inc. is a driven innovator and entrepreneur. He developed Aztech from consulting to a product / consulting mix with both OEM white label and its own branded products. He has created products for energy conservation and has patented unique ways of displaying information.
Product Development – Software
Scott Grant is Full Stack Software Developer, currently working as a Software Engineer with Khan Academy. He has previously worked for Six to Start as a Senior Full Stack Web Developer, Scent Trunk as Chief Technology Officer and a Web Application Engineer with Google. Scott has a Computing degree and Doctor of Philosophy from Queen’s University.
Queen’s University Office of Partnerships and Innovation
In supporting the research enterprise at Queen’s and partner institutions, the Office of Partnerships and Innovation provides support and incubator space for startups, offers entrepreneurship programming, develops and promotes research partnerships with industry, governments, and not-for-profits including other academic institutions, and provides the intellectual property and commercial expertise that are needed to advance discoveries/technologies to the marketplace.
Research Partnerships Unit
The Office of Partnerships and Innovation Research Partnerships Unit advances regional, national, and international collaborations involving the university, our researchers and partners, including industry, not-for-profit organizations and other academic institutions, and works closely with federal, provincial, and not-for-profit funding agencies to accelerate such collaborations.
Technology Transfer Unit
The Technology Transfer Unit provides the commercial and intellectual property expertise that is needed to advance research-based inventions/technologies toward the marketplace.
Launch Lab is a Regional Innovation Centre and member of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs, a provincially-funded network of resources for entrepreneurs. Our head office is in Kingston at Innovation Park but our team of Entrepreneurs In Residence operate throughout the region. We work with tech-based businesses that have an innovative technology or idea, and a variety of new startups who are experiencing challenges and looking to grow.
Southeastern Ontario Angels Network
The Southeastern Ontario Angel Network (SOAN) has been created to facilitate the mobilization of investments from accredited investors into companies being developed in southeastern Ontario. This Network is closely associated with our regional innovation centre, local economic development agencies, research institutions, the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs and other recognized angel networks in Ontario, Canada and the US. The Southeastern Ontario Angel Network is a not-for-profit corporation, recognized by and registered with the Network of Angel Organizations – Ontario.
